PFSD # 1.5 Report & Results

A new record of 9 riders (5 first timers!) showed up for the impromptu 1.5th edition of the Polo Field Smack Down (PFSD) that saw a record high temp of 56 degrees (Fahrenheit)! The use of more aero equipment led to new records in all contested divisions. Cat 4 record holder Jacob Berkman showed up in a baggy t-shirt (a-la Flandis), but took it off before the start to show off his new Mission Cycling kit.

There were a couple real close battles out there with 3 riders besting last week's record!

So, here are the results: Distance: 15 laps, 10.30 miles

PFSD #1.5 Tonight (Thursday)

By somewhat popular demand we will be running PFSD Time Trials tonight (Thursday July 29) at around 6:15 PM. Events will include the new Prologue TT at 3 laps (2.06 mi.) followed by the full standard 15 lap (10.30 mi.) TT. You can do just one or both!

Aero equipment is all fine, but not required. All events are standing start & self timed so bring a watch.

Hope to see you there!

PFSD # 1 Results

(THE TROPHY)

Only 5 hardy souls braved the brisk 54 degree (45 with fog/wind chill) SF Summer weather to take part in the 1st Polo Field Smack Down (PFSD). Records were set in several divisions despite the less than ideal conditions, but we expect all these records to fall in the weeks to come.

So, here are the results: Distance: 15 laps, 10.30 miles

Polo Field Smack Down July 21

Time to revive this blog from the dead.

For those who can't make it to Davis for the Bi-Weekly Putah Creek Smack Down, I've decided to start a "low-key" Polo Field Smack Down starting tonight (July 21) at 6:30 PM.

The initial distance will be 10 miles (15 laps), but I'd like to add other distance in future weeks (2 miles, 2/3 miles & maybe 20 miles or 40K).

No charge and I'll start everyone in 30 sec intervals then go last. Until we have a volunteer this will be a self timed event.

Hope to see you there!
